THE CEREMONY

As the lights went down inside the theatre, the Gala opened with an original musical number by a chorus line leaded by Drew Barrymore, star of the upcoming CMP’s musical ‘Piece Of My Heart’. Barrymore received and outstanding stand up ovation for the wonderful performance she made singing and dancing live one of the main themes of her new movie, a rock cover of the 60’s oldie ‘Knocking On Heaven’s Door’.

Harry Stark, President of CMP, gave an introductory speech:

“Thank you very much to all of you for being here tonight, in the beautiful London, for another night of glamour with CMP. I’ve been asked often why we give awards to our own movies. And the answer is simple: because nobody else would. Thank you to all our screenwriters for their wonderful job! Without them, this would not be possible. Thanks to the stars and directors. And to the nominees, just think that being nominated here, even if you don’t win, is still better than winning in the Shadow Awards… Enjoy the Gala and don’t forget to watch our movies!”

An off-voice introduced the presenters for the 12 categories.
