THE 1Oth GOLDEN MOON AWARDS CEREMONY

THE LOCATION

Welcome to the 10th Golden Moon Awards Ceremony! We are back at Crazy Moon Pictures’ hometown, Los Angeles, to honour the best works of the 10th CMP’s Season. So join us at the Shrine Auditorium for a magical evening!

THE RED CARPET

The night begins with the big stars walking down the red carpet. Fans that have waited for hours to see them scream and shout as their favourite stars get down of their limousines and get into the Auditorium.

We can see faces from upcoming CMP’s releases like Megan Fox (‘Kingdom’), Antonio Banderas (‘Tracks Of Blood’), Owen Wilson (‘Crime Stoppers’) or Sienna Miller (‘Crossovers’).

THE CEREMONY

After the big curtain lifts up at the stage, a giant screen shows images from all the 30 movies released this Season. The clip ends up with a short cut of Jessica Alba in ‘Deep Silence 2: Red Code High’ saying ‘Oh, my God, here we go again…’

Jessica Alba herself and James McAvoy, from ‘The Gunpowder Plot’ and ‘The Legend Of Zelda II’, come out to the stage.

J.A.: Just to make it clear, I am not Will Ferrell with a Jessica Alba’s mask. And he is the real James McAvoy too!
J.M.: I am sorry to disappoint you but, yes, it’s us.
J.A.: And we are here to present the 10th Golden Moon Awards ceremony.
J.M.: Yes, we are all here… well, except for Michael Bay, who is still at home trying to figure out why ‘Gears Of War’ didn’t work…
J.A.: Come on, James. Don’t be cruel! This 10th Edition has been the most successful one for the Studio and we are all here tonight to remember and honour the best of it.
J.M.: And you bet there was a lot of good things this Season!
J.A.: Yes. So before Will Ferrell comes running from the set of the movie he is shooting right now for CMP with another one of those silly costumes, we better go on…
J.M.: You are right. Let’s get to work. Enjoy the Gala and good luck to all the nominees!

And off-voice introduces the stars on stage…

BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN

He was the guy with the worst luck in his dates in ‘Check, Please’. She was the wife of a cop in ‘Fallen Kings’ and a cop herself in ‘Shotgun Joe’: Paul Rudd and Eva Mendes!

E.M.: Oh, what a Season this was! I died twice in it, you know…
P.R.: Well, I had something like a dozen of terrible dates and you bet that feels like dying…
E.M.: Three great movies are nominated at the Best Production Design category.
P.R.: Right. And they are…

DEVIL TRIGGER
FOUL KARMA
THE GUNPOWDER PLOT

And the GMA goes to…

DEVIL TRIGGER

Burt Brien, production designer of the movie, takes the award and thanks all his creative team for making such an excellent job.

MOST WANTED SEQUEL

Here we have a more than sexy couple. He has succeded with his first work for the Studio, ‘Aquaman’, and will be returning soon next Season with ‘Deadly Force’. She will also be back in Season 11 with ‘Tracks Of Blood’, the new adventure of her remembered character in ‘Reform School Girls’. A dangerous and attractive couple: Eliza Dushku and Paul Walker!

P.W.: I feel safe having a kung fu fighter like you by my side tonight, Eliza.
E.D.: Yeah, I am afraid you and I may enjoy practicing some kung fu if we find some of the guys from The Critics Corner round here…
P.W.: Sequels are a very important part of CMP. We two will be working on sequels in the upcoming Season and you bet we are happy for that.
E.D.: And probably some day we’ll watch the sequels of the three movies nominated tonight. They are…

DEVIL TRIGGER
FLASHMAN AND THE MOUNTAIN OF LIGHT
L.A. WOLF

And the award is for…

L.A. WOLF

Rae Houseman, producer of the movie, takes the statue and dedicates it to David Fincher and Josh Collins, director and writer of the movie. ‘I look forward to work with you two again in the sequel!’, he says.

BEST ORIGINAL CONCEPT

Two of the most important young stars in CMP are presenting this category. She has had a great success with ‘Devil Trigger’ and will return next Season with the awaited ‘Silver Sable And The Wild Pack’. He is already a Best Actor GMA Winner and starred this Season ‘Blood Meridian’: Daniel Radcliff and AnnaSophia Robb!

A.R.: The concept is the first step to make a good movie. It all begins with a simple idea. Then, the idea is developed. That takes to the screenplay. And that’s when there’s something from where it is possible to start making the movie.
D.R.: But if the premise, that initial concept, does not work, probably there won’t be any chance of making a good movie.
A.R.: Here we have three great concepts not based on any previous existing material…

DEVIL TRIGGER
FALLEN KINGS
HUMAN AXIS

And the GMA goes to…

HUMAN AXIS

Douglas Sollum, producer of the movie, comes up to the stage. ‘It was such a honour having the chance of being involved in the making of this wonderful movie’, he says.

BEST ADAPTATION

She was back this Season having a hard time in ‘Preacher: All American Family’. He had a good time in ‘Tender Is The Night’. Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner!

K.C.: Making a good adaptation is not an easy task. Fans of the original material are often the toughest judges to evaluate your job. And you better not disappoint them!
J.G.: I feel so proud of having the chance to work in such a great comic adaptation as the Preacher movies. Keep on writing them, Matt!
K.C.: And, whatever happens in a few seconds, I think we all made a winning work with ‘Tender Of The Night’.
J.G.: Nominees for Best Adaptation are…

BLOOD MERIDIAN
BORGEL
TENDER IS THE NIGHT

And the winner is…

BORGEL

Wilson Claypool, producer of the movie, steps up to the stage and lifts up the statue: ‘This is for the two crazy minds that made it possible: Terry Gilliam and Ben Tyler!’

Let’s relax with the first live music performance of the night. Katie Perry sings ‘Hot’n’Cold’, theme included in the soundtrack of ‘Check, Please’.

BEST VILLAIN

He was one of the big surprises of this Season joining one of the most successful CMP’s franchises to play his best known character: Spiderman in ‘The Avengers 3’. She made her debut in the Studio this Season as the sexy Queen of Lahore in ‘Flashman And The Mountain Of Light’: Please welcome Tobey Maguire and Freida Pinto!

T.M.: We all love this Best Villain category… There’s something about it…
F.P.: Yes, the Golden Moon Awards are the only awards to specially recognize how hard it is to play a good villain.
T.M.: And we all feel strange not having Anthony Hopkins around tonight…
F.P.: Anyway, we have three wonderful nominees…

MERRY STREEP – Preacher: All American Family
SAMUEL L. JACKSON – Foul Karma
SETH ROGEN – Wild Cards: Battle Of The Rox

And special congratulations to…

SAMUEL L. JACKSON
FOUL KARMA

Jackson takes his award on stage and says: ‘Mr. Damon, I promise I never thought on cutting it completely… Thank you Josh Collins and Matt Kubrick for writing such a wonderful and sick story.’

BEST SCREENPLAY

Ladies and Gentlemen, let’s welcome two great talents: from ‘Fallen Kings’, Denzel Washington, and from ‘L.A.Wolf’, Michelle Monaghan!

M.M.: We are talking tonight about original concepts, adaptations, production designs, cast… But all that would be nothing without great writers creating the most wonderful stories.
D.W.: And the main achievement of CMP is having reunited the most amazing team of talented screenwriters.
M.M.: Three of them have been nominated tonight and I must say I love the job the three of them made.
D.W.: Nominees for Best Screenplay are…

DAVID MAKALASTER – Devil Trigger
DAWSON EDWARDS – Fallen Kings

And the GMA goes to…

DAVID MAKALASTER

We have a very peculiar couple to present the couples award. Although they are man and woman, both have played the same character in the iconic saga that ended this Season, Wild Cards. From ‘Wild Cards: Battle Of The Rox’, Cate Blanchett, and from ‘Flashman and The Mountain Of Light’, Kenneth Branagh.

K.B.: You look great, Dr. Taychon.
C.B.: You too, Dr. Taychon.
K.B.: Let me take a second now to pay tribute to all the wonderful talents that contributed to make ‘Wild Cards’ the most innovative and lasting saga in CMP. I have to mention directors like Matt Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, Alexander Aja, Guillermo Del Toro, McG, David Fincher and Zack Snyder. Also Michael Bay, producer of the first movie of the series. And the two screenwriters that made it possible, Matt Kubrick and Joey Stark.
C.B.: And, of course, all the wonderful actors and actresses that were seen in the movies.
*standing ovation *
K.B.: Well, Cate, I must say Dr. Taychon looked much better when he turned into a woman..
C.B.: Thanks, Kenneth, but his soul is still yours...

He was the first winner of the Best Actor GMA and past edition he won the Best Supporting Actor GMA. She has won twice the Best Supporting Actress award. And they are Robin Williams and Jodie Foster!

R.W.: Well, well, well… It’s great to be back here. This edition, the Best Supporting Actress category proves that it is so stupid to consider that comedy works are not as valuable as dramatic ones. Two wonderful comedy actresses are nominated tonight. So please, stop considering us, comedians, a kind of second class talents, you critics! *big ovation*
J.F.: After all, this Season, the top 1 box office’s hit was a comedy, the wild ‘Woodland Creatures’. So I would beg that cast directors offer a chance to play comedy characters to people like me, poor actors and actresses stereotyped as dramatic talents. We all love comedy!
R.W.: Ok, Jodie, tell me who are the nice ladies nominated here…
J.F.: Nominees for Best Supporting Actress are…

AMY ADAMS – Woodland Creatures
JOAN CUSACK – Check, Please

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

J.F.: Let’s go with the guys… Three great talents have been nominated in this category too.
R.W.: They all played that kind of supporting characters that become as important for the story as the lead roles. And that was mainly due to their undisputable acting talent.
J.F.: And they are…

AARON ECKHART – Blood Meridian
JAY HERNANDEZ – Fallen Kings
JOSEPH FIENNES – Human Axis

And the winner is…

JOSEPH FIENNES
HUMAN AXIS

Joseph Fiennes stepped up to the stage, embraced Robin and danced with him before saying ‘Thank you to Chris Nolan, David Makalaster, Ewan, Jennifer and everybody that have helped me to feel like walking on the surface of the sun tonight.’

And now let’s enjoy the second live music performance of the night. Mos Def not only acted in ‘Fallen Kings’. He also sung one of the original themes included in the soundtrack of the movie: the hip-hop song ‘Shoot On Me’. Mos Def!

K.H.: I am so happy not being there again, wondering how will I smile if my name does not come out of the envelope. Playing a terrorist from the XVII century, a 111 years old man and a pianist has taken three great actors to deserve this award tonight. And they are…

CHRISTIAN BALE – The Gunpowder Plot
DUSTIN HOFFMAN – Borgel
JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT – Weigh Anchor

And the Golden Moon Award goes to…

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT
WEIGH ANCHOR

Joseph Gordon-Levitt jumps from his seat and runs up to the stage. He looks at the statue in his hands and says: ‘I just can’t believe it! Mr.Bale, Mr.Hoffman… all I can say is that I am your number one fan and I learn each time I see you on screen. Thank you!’.

BEST DIRECTOR

She has been part of so many CMP’s blockbusters. The last one was ‘Hawkeye. The Prey’. He is another regular in CMP and this Season we saw him in ‘Stanley & Livingstone’ and ‘The Legend Of Zelda II’: Liam Neeson and Claire Danes!

He stars one blockbuster after another in CMP. The last one has been the most successful movie of the Season: ‘Woodland Creatures’. She survived to all kind of dates in ‘Check, Please’. Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore!

D.B.: It is a pleasure to be here with Mr. Box Office Hit…
B.S.: Oh, come on, Drew, I have just been lucky lately. I took my risk starring a strange comedy and you also took yours starring another peculiar comedy. And the important thing is that we both survived to the experience. I loved ‘Check, Please’.
D.B.: I loved your movie too, Ben. Well, we close a wonderful CMP’s Season with this last award. It has been a great Season and I hope the next one will be at least as good as this.
B.S.: Nominees for Best Picture are…

DEVIL TRIGGER
FALLEN KINGS
THE GUNPOWDER PLOT

And the Best Picture winner of Season 10 is…

THE GUNPOWDER PLOT

Tony Scott, producer of the movie, demands his brother Ridley to go up to the stage with him. ‘I want to dedicate this award to John Daws’, says Tony, ‘I had the pleasure to work with him in the five Hitman movies and ‘He-Man. The Power Of Greyskull’ and now in this wonderful experience of producing The Gunpowder Plot. John, please, keep counting on me for future projects!
