THE MOVING THUMBS

1-HITMAN. THE MYTH OF JOHN JACKSON

“Splendid. Like a sip of the best irish beer”
-Ray Winslow, ‘The Los Angeles Times’

“Farrell has finally founded the perfect character for him. Violent, dirty, show-off and cocky. I should hate him, but I can’t avoid loving him. So sexy! I have the feeling that there’s more to come from John Jackson and I’m looking forward to it”
-Lilly Stevens, ‘USA Today’

“Tony Scott has made a violent and thrilling movie. One of the best action movies I’ve seen for a long time. Paul Bettany should play all the villains in every movie that is ever made, as he is always perfect as the bad guy of the show. Patrick Stewart is a synonymous of quality acting. Keira is always a knock-out. And Farrel makes a hateful adorable hero”.
-Charlie McGowan, ‘Variety’

2-CHEVROLET

“Kasdan has taken the best from some of his previous movies like ‘The Big Chill’ and ‘Grand Canyon’ to make his best movie ever. Funny, moving, entertaining and melancholic. A masterpiece. Thumbs up to the sky”
-Bob Felton, ‘Entertainment Weekly’

“Here is an unforgettable movie about losers. A quartet of lost people trying to find a meaning to their lives. The old question about where we come from and where are we going is treated by Kasdan with the perfect doses of humour, tenderness, drama and romance. The road trip becomes a metaphor of life itself. There’s everything in it: fear, discovery, loneliness, relationships, pain and hope.”
-Robin Carson, ‘Hollywood Reporter’

“Tom Cruise makes an outstanding performance as a decadent playboy. Scarlett Johansson deserves all the praises with that perfect Ukrainian accent. Rosario Dawson makes a great vulnerable woman overwhelmed by the circumstances. And Will Smith is so funny and moving as a man obsessed with health and death. Kasdan has made one of the best road movies I’ve ever seen.”
-Jack Harrison, ‘People’

AWAITING RELEASE

1-CAPTAIN AMERICA VS SUPERMAN

The Cast: Heath Ledger, Nicholas Cage, Kate Beckinsale, Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin

The Director and Producer: Tim Burton

The Plot: Brainiac (V.Rhames) takes control of Superman’s (Nicholas Cage) brain and transform him in a powerful and evil anti-hero. The world is in danger and Captain America (H.Ledger) is its last hope as he has to face his old friend Superman trying to stop him without killing him. Beside him, Captain America has again his darling girlfriend (K.Beckinsale) and his grumpy boss (A.Baldwin).

The Comment:
The sequel of ‘Captain America’ had a complicated production process. But it is finally here and the interaction between the two superheroes should be reason enough to fill all the theatres.

2-LOL

The Cast: Ben Stiller, Marisa Tomei, Merryl Streep, Hank Azaria, Kate Hudson

The Director: Nora Ephron

The Plot: Ben Stiller’s dates always end up in a disaster. Tyred of that, he decides to try meeting women only through a chat site. There, he meets Marisa Tomei, who has recently divorced and uses the chats to go through a depression. Ben and Marisa become best friends through the chat. But, one day, she suddenly disappears, as she thinks that having a cyber relationship is weird. Ben wants to find her, so he starts looking for her in all kind of chat sites. In his search, he will contact and even meet personally Azaria, a chat freak that has not left his home in the last two years and whose only contact with the outside world is through the net, and Kate Hudson, who suffers double personality: she is a sweet and innocent girl but becomes the hottest dirtiest girl when connecting to the chats. With their help, Ben tries to find Marisa, while his mother (M.Streep) keeps pressing him to find a girl and get married. Ben finally finds Marisa and, from that moment, their relationship will have to go on in the real world…

The Comment:
A nice and sweet romantic comedy that should do well at the box office. CMP expects it to be the first ‘sleeper’ of the new season.

RUMOURS AND GOSSIPS – SPECIAL PICS GALLERY

As it happened before with Jessica Alba, once again some tabloids have edited a picture saying that it is CMP President Harry Stark the man having fun with 'Chevrolet' star Scarlett Johansson in the beach. Alice Dobson, Chief of CMP’s Press Office, has released the following press statement: ‘Harry Stark is a professional. He does not flirt with the stars of the Studio. Mrs. Johansson and Mr.Stark are only good friends.'

A different kind of premiere. ‘Chevrolet’ premiere was a peculiar event. Instead of a glamorous movie theatre, the premiere took place in an old big hangar of the Chevrolet company in North Dakota, where some of the scenes of the movie were shot. Tom Cruise and Will Smith attended to the premiere and the afterwards party.

Director’s reunion. As CMP’s Season 2 got to its end, the Studio organized a convention in Las Vegas with journalists, distributors and other movie professionals to talk about the development of the Company and the future plans for Season 3. As the main event of the convention, a few directors showed up to talk about their past and future projects with the Studio. Here are Robert Rodriguez (‘Dark Omens’), James Cameron (‘Deep Silence’), Robert Zemeckis (‘Happy Hamsters’) and George Lucas, who gave the big surprise oficially confirming that he will be the producer of the new CMP’s Star Wars movie.

Horror / Slasher

Box Office: 16 mill.

CMP Reaction: It is being a tough season. Good old days of v28 are gone and v38 is quite a challenge. Darkman had become part of the family, so the Studio is so sorry for him.

CMP Reaction: There’s no reaction. Everybody at the Studio is too shocked even to react.

THE MOVING THUMBS

1-DARK OMENS (FEAR THE DARKNESS 3)

“A scary movie has to be scary. This is an obviousness. But it is also a big true. And this movie is not scary. Although a noisy soundtrack tries to remark the supposed thrilling moments and Sarah Michelle Gellar insists in showing a scared expression, the truth is that you just don’t feel the fear when an overacted Del Toro and his zombie followers appear in the scene. Maybe we’ve just seen Darkman enough times to feel scared again”.
-Amy Ratched, ‘Today’

“Rodriguez has made what could be called as a ‘pop art scary movie’. I mean, there are so many bright colours and psychedelic images in Gellar’s hallucinations that it seems more like a vision of an Andy Warhol picture under the effects of LSD than anything else. That maybe cool, but definitely it’s not scary”
-Roy Winslow, ‘The Los Angeles Times’

“This third Darkman’s adventure has got the worst of the previous movies. As it happened with ‘The Long Dark Night’, the movie is more worried about special effects than about fear itself. And, as it happened in ‘Fear the Darkness’, you just don’t get to believe the reasons why the characters get voluntarily in so much troubles instead of just running away of that haunted house”.
-Bill Holloway, ‘Entertainment Weekly’

2-THE BRIDGE

“The movie is technically superb. Beautiful cinematography. Magnificent locations. Splendidly orchestrated soundtrack. Epic performances from all the talents. It’s only got a problem: it is boring.”
-Richard Parks, ‘At The Movies’

“CMP has made a big mistake with the marketing of this movie. It is not an action or an adventure movie. It is not the story of Vikings wars or any kind of ‘Braveheart’ epic legend. It is more a kind of a Shakespeare drama about faith, life after life, war and human spirit. If you try to sell something for what it is not, people just don’t buy it.”
-Billy Conn, ‘The New York Post’

“Intelligent but pretentious. Deep but too full of monologues. Great acting but absolute lack of pace. Epic but not spectacular. Philosophic but sleepy maker. It could have been great. But it is not.”
-John C. Williams, ‘Hollywood Reporter’

AWAITING RELEASE

1-HITMAN. THE MYTH OF JOHN JACKSON

The Cast: Colin Farrell, Keira Knightley, Paul Bettany, Patrick Stewart

The Director: Tony Scott

The Plot: John Jackson (C.Farrell) is a deeply religious irish man. After the death of his family, he joined a brotherhood who fights evil. And evil and hatred has a new face: Paul Bettany, the leader of a cartel trying to take over drug traffic all over Europe. Rookie detective Lisa Offen (K.Knightley) can’t foil his plans by herself. But when she contacts Father Michaels (P.Stewart) he will offer her the help of the mysterious John Jackson. And Jackson will fight against Bettany hiding everywhere and using all kind of weapons and all kind of methods in and out of the law.

The Comment: Here we go again. Will this action movie with a british touch cover the Studio’s expectations or is there another big disappointment coming? Violence, sexy stars and loads of action. Wasn’t this a sure formula?

2-CHEVROLET

The Cast: Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Rosario Dawson, Scarlett Johansson

The Director: Lawrence Kasdan

The Plot: Cruise is coming on age. He has made a living in New York’s high society as a boytoy for rich ladies for years. But he’s not that young anymore. Depressed and realizing the senseless of his life, he picks up his old Chevrolet and travels to his homeland in Dakota, with the secret idea of committing suicide on arrival. During the trip, some other travellers will join him. Smith plays a hypochondriac convinced that he suffers a deadly brain tumor. He wants to visit a famous quack as his last hope of being cured. Dawson is the only survival of a recent airplanes crash in JFK Airport and wants to run away from the sudden fame it has brought her and the journalists and find an answer to why she was chosen to survive. And Johansson plays a Ukrainian illegal immigrant that can hardly speak English. She has been exploded as a prostitute in a road club until she decides to run away. During the trip, the group will face their own destinies while discovering the meaning of life, friendship and maybe love.

The Comment: A beautiful story and a great cast. The Studio trusts so much in James Bradley’s stories and this one looks as a winner again.

THE STAR PROFILE – LONELY HEROES

The lonely, tough and tormented hero is a kind of classic character in movies. From the times of Charles Bronson’s 70's movies, passing through Clint Eastwood and Dirty Harry or Die Hard’s John McLaine to our days, there is a wide bunch of guys that have tried to save the world or at least make justice by themselves. Usually, they are serious and violent men, with failed love relationships, addicted to problems, never following the rules and obsessed with the idea that they are the only ones that can save us from disaster. CMP has added quite a few lonely heroes to the gallery with different results.

CMP’S FILMOGRAPHY

ACE BANNER (Doug Liman, B.O.: 106 mill): Matt Kubrick created this ‘bondesque’ lonely hero that was eaten alive by critics. But, looking at it on perspective, the movie was a major hit. Sequel is coming soon. The guy deserves another adventure.

INDIGO PROPHECY (Brian Kelley, B.O.: 45 mill.): Coming out directly from a PC game, Matt Damon had the hardest work for a lonely hero: he had to discover why he had murdered a guy himself. Tough work, but some close encounters with Kate Beckinsale made the job easier for him.

THE AVENGER (John Woo, B.O.: 56 mill.): Originally titled ‘Priest’, Matt Kubrick created another lonely but believer hero. Eric Bana was a peculiar priest: he didn’t use the word to preach, but the most sophisticated weapons.

HOT IRON (Christopher Nolan, B.O.: 9 mill.): Brad Pitt – Jack Hammer’s creation - did not begun as a lonely hero but he ended like it, after his buddy, Robert Downey Jr., was cruelly murdered. Audiences also murdered the chance of what could be an interesting sequel.

HITMAN (Tony Scott, awaiting release): Coming directly from Great Britain, Colin Farrell joins the lonely heroes’ club. All of us would accept to be lonely with Keira Knightley by our side… John Daws is the creator of the violent John Jackson before creating something even bigger: his own movie studios.

MOVIES IN DEVELOPMENT

STYX AND STONES: The surprising thing is not that John Malkovich and Queen Latifah (‘Court Appeal’, ‘Alice In Wonderland’) have been hired for this comedy. The amazing thing is the roles they are going to play. John Malkovich will be the Devil. And Latifah will be God him… sorry, herself!

CORSAIRS. THE SEARCH FOR NANTAYALAH: Bad luck is chasing the end of this shootage. A tropical storm has destroyed some of the settings of the movie. Luckily, there were only a few more scenes to shoot.

THE PASSION BENEATH: Some more names joining the new Brian Kelley’s picture. Kevin Spacey (‘Sam & Twitch’) and Willem Dafoe team up with Julia Roberts and Jamie Foxx in what is expected to be one of those allstars casts that the Studio (and Kelley) likes so much.

CAPTAIN AMERICA VS SUPERMAN: Shadows in the horizon. Test screens results have not been as good as expected. Tim Burton, director and producer, has rejected to re-edit the movie. And CMP’s executives are already trembling for what could be another unexpected flop.

DR. JONES AND THE SWORD OF FAITH: And now, we’ve got the villain’s name. Daniel Craig will try to eliminate Dr. Henry Jones before he even has the chance to conceive his baby boy, Indy.

LOL: The internet freaks parade is ready to show up. Nora Ephron is already editing her romantic comedy. And, this time, test screens have been excellent. Ben Stiller and Marisa Tomei are expecting to fill up all the movie theatres next Valentine’s Day.

HAPPY HAMSTERS: Robert Zemeckis has accepted to take care of the gang of Hamsters. He is going to direct and produce this Marcus Trax’s animation story and some stars’ voices will be probably heard in it.

WESTWORLD: The 1973’s sci-fi classic starring Yul Brynner will have a remake by CMP. Steve Connors has written a screenplay based on this story about an amusement park where visitors can mix with human looking robots that reproduce famous movies characters. Interesting.

SAVING SAMANTHA MOSS: First screenplay by newcomer writer Ted Froats. A dark story dealing with kidnappers and crime that will probably be starred by Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman.

ACE BANNER 2: Yes, it finally got the green light. Hugh Jackman is back. No director has been confirmed yet for this sequel. The only sure thing is that it won’t be Doug Liman, director of the first Banner movie.

RUMOURS AND GOSSIPS

Why are DVD sales failing lately? Some of CMP’s movies were financially saved by DVD sales and rentals. But that’s not happening anymore. ‘The Bridge’, a complete disaster at box office, has also been a deception when released in DVD, even though it offers a very interesting director’s cut by Wolfgang Petersen.

The end of a classic franchise? Darkman could not make it for the third time. Rodriguez did not catch the magic of Craven’s movies. And now, another question is floating through CMP’s offices: what will happen with the fourth Darkman’s movie?

After reading Marcus Trax’s screenplay, George Lucas has allowed CMP to use Star Wars logo in the new movie of the saga. Now, Harry Stark and Marcus Trax are trying to convince him to even produce the movie.

INSIDE CMP

As CMP’s Season 2 (24 movies) will finish after the release of ‘Hitman’ and ‘Chevrolet’, CMP will make public soon a complete report about how this season has gone. Julian Jones, Production Department CEO, has said that economic results have not been as bad as it may seem. “The company knew that moving from Hollywood Mogul’s v28 to v38 would make it much harder. But we love the challenge and we are sure that Season 3 will be even better than Season 2”. We’ll see what the Season 2 Report shows…

Also, as Season 2 is nearly finishing, Golden Moon Awards are on its way. Next issue will open the time period for nominations voting. This second edition will feature the same categories than the first one. Bets are starting to run about who will be the nominees.

COMING SOON – THE ADD

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

JANUARY, 24

MOVIES RELEASED

1-HOT IRON

Cops / Action
Directed by Christopher Nolan
Starring Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., Uma Thurman, Billy Bob Thornton, Ray Liotta, Al Pacino
Box Office: 9 mill.
Net Loss: 32 mill.

CMP Reaction: Shit happens.

2-TURNING POINT

Medical / Drama
Directed by Jonathan Demme
Starring Jodie Foster, Meg Ryan, Gregg Kinnear, Tea Leoni, David Schwimmer, Anne Hathaway
Box Office: 71 mill.
Net Gains: 62 mill.

CMP Reaction: Studio’s executives would never make a living as futurologist. Every time a hit is expected (‘Hot Iron’), the movie flops. Every time a movie commercial future worries (‘Turning Point’) it becomes a surprising success.

THE MOVING THUMBS

1-HOT IRON

“This movie would have been a major hit back in the 80’s. But audiences have changed so much since then. So there’s not any specific reason for its flop. It is just an innocent victim of the lack of interest of young viewers for solid adult action movies so far away from the Lord Of The Rings culture”.
-Ray Winslow, ‘The New York Times’

“I went into an empty theatre. Lights went off. The movie begun. And I got absolutely hypnotized by a dense and tense plot that took me back to the best of old Sidney Lumet, Martin Scorsese or William Friedkin movies. And when it finished, I went back to the street and wondered why it was only me in the theatre”.
-Bill Holloway, ‘Entertainment Weekly’

“All the cast makes a great job. And Christopher Nolan proves again that he is one of the most interesting directors of the moment. But there was something missing in it. It does not work as a serial killer movie the way the recent ‘Checkmate’ did. It also fails as a realistic picture of cops life. It does not define where the story wants to go and what genre does it want to belong to. And finally, that lack of definition is a heavy weight for the movie."
-Anne Roman, 'At The Movies'

2-TURNING POINT

“In some way, it could be said that this is a kind of American Dogma movie. Demme keeps the camera in movement all the time, in a vibrating and a bit exhausting way of shooting. He tries to give the story a hyper-realistic look, with long takes and avoiding any kind of tricks. It’s an interesting and brilliant experiment that hides the lack of interest of all the stories told in the movie”.
-Amy Ratched, ‘Today’

“Here is a ‘director-movie’. Demme has got a story full of stereotypes and has shot it with experimental techniques. The result is so appealing and what could have been a boring medical drama becomes an exciting exercise of moviemaking.”
-Charlie Kiggs, ‘Variety’

“The formula: ‘Grey’s Anatomy + House x E.R.’. All put into a cocktail shaker by director Jonathan Demme. The result: what could have been a regular tv series episode becomes a brilliant and absorbing movie”.
-Bob Felton, ‘Today’

AWAITING RELEASE

1-DARK OMENS (FEAR THE DARKNESS 3)

The Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Benicio Del Toro, Luke Wilson, Geoffrey Rush

The Director: Robert Rodriguez

The Plot: A young college student by the name of Amy (S.M.Gellar) is haunted by strange visions of a weird dark robed man. Continuously haunted by these visions she seeks therapy to try and find the problems. Looking for some rest, she decides to spend the summer in her family old house in the small quiet town of Waverly, a place that harbours dark secrets. There, she will seek therapy with an enigmatic doctor (G.Rush) that tells her about certain dark legends and uncovers stories about the haunted house and old news items about a cult responsible for murders that have taken place in the town. Also, she initiates a relationship with a nice guy (L.Wilson) that will accept to follow her in her search for truth. Soon she uncovers secrets she herself has been hiding. Her parents were former cult members and after they both died she was sent away to foster care. Now the Darkman (B.Del Toro) has called her home and a new chapter in terror opens.

The Comment: CMP’s classic character Darkman returns. The franchise completely change the cast in every picture. Darkman is the only link between this franchise’s movies. And a fourth story will come if this one works in box office.

2-THE BRIDGE

The Cast: Liam Neeson, Ethan Hawke, Cate Blanchett, Sean Connery, Ben Kingsley

The Director: Wolfgang Petersen

The Plot: In the time of the vikings, on a day of battle, two warriors march. One a pagan who believes in the old gods and a veteran of war, the other a young man with no experience of war who has turned to the new religion sweeping the world Christianity. Liam Neeson is the 'veteran', who is a mentor to Ethan Hawke’s character, the 'young'. Neeson likes the good life, drinking, women, fighting etc and has come to terms with his beliefs. Ethan Hawke is fresh faced and is about to go into his first battle, as he thinks he is doing gods work by fighting in the battle even if others do not believe his beliefs. Both men get slain during the battle and each has a different vision/hallucination upon death and how they perceive the journey from this life to the next. Connery plays an aging warrior who Hawke has friction with but overcomes in the heat of battle. He is one of the last berserkers, fierce warriors who go into a battle rage and basic cause chaos. Kingsley plays the lord of the forces, who is urging the men to battle to 'defend' their lands, even though he is leading his men to the attack. Cate Blanchett is the woman Hawke leaves behind to go to battle and on the way considers giving her up entirely to join the church, if he survives the battle.

The Comment: A quality epic movie in the line of the awarded and acclaimed ‘The Crusades’. This time, the story gets more introspective as it follows the day when a group of Vikings warriors face their destiny. Elegant production, high budget, prestigious cast… and a box office mystery.

THE STAR PROFILE – DARKMAN

Created by screenwriter and director Matt Kubrick, Darkman has joined the horror movies hall of fame together with other nice guys such as Freddy Krueger or Jason Vorhees. It is one of those characters that devour the actor playing it, so now it is impossible to think on Benicio Del Toro without thinking on Darkman and vice versa.

CMP’S FILMOGRAPHY

FEAR THE DARKNESS (Wes Craven, B.O.: 117 mill.): An ordinary American family (Dennis Quaid, Laura Linney and Dakota Fanning) made the mistake of moving to the haunted house where Darkman and his followers live. Nobody believed Dakota when she said there was something strange in that house. Until Darkman came out from the unmaterial world to say hello for the first time.

THE LONG DARK NIGHT (Wes Craven, B.O.: 122 mill.): Horror live on tv. Michael Keaton, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson and Bill Pullman dared to get into Darkman’s home to shoot a tv special. And everyone at home enjoyed as a ‘reality show’ how he took good care of all of them. The legend of Darkman grew… and CMP’s incomes too.

DARK OMENS (Robert Rodriguez, awaiting release): Wes Craven became another victim of Darkman. In this third movie, Robert Rodriguez shows the dangerous decision of a depressed girl under therapy feeling curiosity for Darkman. Luke Wilson chose the perfect girlfriend to get in troubles.

FEAR THE DARKNESS 4 (??): Matt Kubrick wants to close his popular saga with a fourth and finale Darkman’s adventure. Box Office will decide about it when the third part is released.

MOVIES IN DEVELOPMENT

CAPTAIN AMERICA VS SUPERMAN: Ving Rhames (‘The Crusades’) has joined the cast to play Brainiac, the evil character that takes control of Superman / Nicholas Cage brain. The actor will appear in the movie under a sophisticated make up to make him look like the classic villain taken from old Superman’s comics.

HITMAN. THE MYTH OF JOHN JACKSON: The film is already finished. But director Tony Scott is re-editing it in order to reduce the explicit violence of some of its scenes.

CHEVROLET: Scarlett Johansson is the fourth name to join Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Rosario Dawson in their trip across the US. Lawrence Kasdan is close to finish the shooting of this dramedy.

LOL: Complete cast for this romantic comedy written and directed by Nora Ephron: Ben Stiller (‘The Perfect Candidate’), Marisa Tomei, Merryl Streep (‘Cathedral’), Hank Azaria and Kate Hudson.

STYX AND STONES: Hugh Grant and Owen Wilson are confirmed as the starring couple of this afterlife comedy. The movie will be the return to CMP of Jennifer Anniston (‘The Clown Smile’).

CORSAIRS.THE SEARCH FOR NANTAYALAH: Some delays for this one. Banderas suffered an accident when filming a risky scene in locations in Indonesia. He has broken his arm. Due to this, the few remaining scenes of the movie will have to be shot with a double.

THE PASSION BENEATH: Finally, the new Brian Kelley’s (‘Indigo Prophecy’) movie has got a title and a cast. Julia Roberts and Jamie Foxx will live a passionate relationship in this tragic drama that has begun its shootage.

DR. JONES AND THE SWORD OF FAITH: Spielberg is keeping quite secret everything around this movie. A new name has been confirmed to join Ewan McGregor, playing his best friend: Philip Seymour Hoffman.

HAPPY HAMSTERS: CMP’s Animation Division has greenlighted this Marcus Trax’s project focussed in the life of a group of hamsters. Far away from Robotech, this is a new and thrilling experience for the Studio.

RUMOURS AND GOSSIPS

It was a mouth to mouth rumour running through all Hollywood’s offices. Now it is official: CMP will produce a new Star Wars movie! It is not a sequel of ‘Tales Of the Jedi’. The story takes place a few decades after Episode VI. It will be co-produced by CMP and Trax Star Productions. And nothing else is said in the brief press release in which CMP has announced it.

CMP has got bad critics in the movie business specialized media due to the cast of ‘The Bridge’. Most of the talents involved were previously together in the awarded ‘The Crusades’. Why? CMP considers that an epic movie cannot be epic enough if Ben Kingsley, Sean Connery or Ethan Hawke are not in it?

Rumour has it that Tom Cruise and Will Smith have reduced so much their usual salary to be in ‘Chevrolet’. Some bad intentioned critics have pointed out that maybe that was their only way to be hired in a CMP’s movie, as the Studio has ignored both stars when looking for actors to star their big action and sci-fi productions.

CMP had planned to produce a series of comedies starred by Zach Braff. But, after the failure of ‘Don’t stand so close to me’, the idea has been abandoned. The Studio might be turning back its eyes to Jason Biggs to make him the teen comedies idol they are looking for instead of Braff.

‘Captain America vs Superman’ is the next risky move of the Studio. The production is so expensive but the hopes are kept high. After the bad streak for CMP’s blockbusters initiated with ‘Tales of the Jedi’ and continued this week with ‘Hot Iron’, everyone at the Studio is so scared watching how Captain America’s costs keep growing and growing.

INSIDE CMP

The 2nd edition of the Golden Moon Awards will be coming soon. Another 24 movies will have been released by the Studio in a few dates and the awards will return then. Everyone at CMP is preparing the second ceremony from now. About the offer made by Daws Studios to put up another awards together, Harry Stark has stated: ‘That’s a nice idea that we will consider in the future, when Daws Studios have released its own movies and has gained some experience. But, even if those awards are created, we will go on with our GMA, as it is a kind of a family party for us.”

Debutant writers will see their stories in the big screen soon. New writing talents like Marcus Trax, John Daws or Ted Froats have provided the Studio with stories that will hit the screens in the near future, proving the good health of CMP.

It seems like CMP is overcoming its first financial crisis. Unexpected hits like ‘Fools Game’ and ‘Turning Point’ have balanced the financial situation of the Studios after the flop of its more expensive productions.

CMP’S SEASON 2 WORLDWIDE GROSS TOP 5
  1. DEEP SILENCE - 141

  2. CATHEDRAL - 131
  3. ROBOTECH 2 - 121

  4. DEAD MAN'S SONG - 99
